Monday 9/29

Here are some of the things we worked  on..............

Tom Park,  Richard and Don removing old, broken window frames and installing new  ones. The new windows will be sealed to keep the weather  out of the orphan  girls' rooms. We replaced all fourteen windows on the third floor of the  dormitory

Linda, Karen  and a friend Stephanie started painting the window frames before  installing them, but the paint dried too slowly. Instead  they installed  them before painting, because getting the rooms weatherproofed was top  priority.

Many people  including Linda, Karen, Joy, Jonathan, Tom fisher and Tom Reynolds spent a  lot of time glazing (putting putty around the fram to seal between the  glass and frame). The orphan girl to the righ of Karen help glaze.

For the  children, one of the most popular and (useful!) items the team used was  anti-bacterial hand lotion! As soon as they rubbed it all  over their  hands, they proudly walked up to another one of us and had us smell their  hands!
